The three major government financial institutions—Landbank, the Social Security System (SSS), and the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS)—all posted their highest-ever net incomes under the Marcos administration, generating a combined ₱147 billion in dividends for the national government this year alone, Finance Secretary Frederick Go said Saturday.

Go made the disclosure in an interview on DZRH News program “Special on Saturday,” as part of the DZRH SONA 2026 Series featuring the Department of Finance (DOF).

“We collected a total of 147 billion ng dividendong galing sa ating mga GFIs at GOCCs. Gagawin ko lang pong halimbawa ang Landbank at ang SSS. Silang dalawa po, ang net income po nila ay ang pinakamataas sa kasaysayan nila,” Go said.

Landbank posted a record net income of ₱44 billion, reflecting its growing role as a lender to farmers, fishermen, and small enterprises under the Marcos administration’s agriculture and rural development programs.

The SSS posted a record net income of ₱143 billion, while the GSIS recorded ₱138 billion — both historic highs that Go attributed to improved portfolio management, stronger membership compliance, and a healthier overall economic environment.

Go said the record performances of the three institutions mean they have more funds available to lend to their respective beneficiaries—Landbank to farmers and rural communities, SSS to private sector workers, and GSIS to government employees—at lower interest rates and with more favorable terms.

He said the combined ₱147 billion in dividends collected from GFIs and GOCCs this year contributes directly to the national government’s funding for public services, complementing revenue from the BIR and BOC without requiring additional taxation.

Go said the strong GFI performance also enabled the launch of micro loan programs through SSS and GSIS, allowing members to borrow at just 6% annually instead of turning to informal lenders charging 10% per month.
